New Ultrasound System Provides Unparalleled Care for Mother & Baby

UltrasoundRecently the Wheaton Franciscan – North Market Foundation Board of Directors approved a request which will provide a new ultrasound system to the Prenatal Assessment Center (PNAC). This technology will service high risk pregnant women in both a timely and effective manner.

The new ultrasound system, the Voluson E10, will equip technicians with the ability to date the pregnancy earlier, follow up on potential issues in a timely manner, and offers patients the ease of same-day appointments. This is especially important considering the transportation challenges that face our patients. The opportunity to provide this level of care pleases both patients and providers. It decreases wait times for patients and increases convenience, which is something we strive for every day.

The PNAC staff provide ultrasound services at the Women’s Outpatient Center and will soon be offering ultrasound services two days each week. Wheaton Franciscan - St. Joseph Campus is a high-risk birthing center, and ultrasound machines, as with all types of technology, are in a constant state of change and refinement. This machine will afford us the opportunity to offer current technology for patients in need of higher resolution ultrasound, particularly helpful in the management of high-risk pregnancies.

This technology was made possible by you, our donors. Donations directed to the Women’s Outpatient Center Fund throughout the year support advancement like this. Thank you for your continued generosity!
