Community Funders Making a Difference

We continue to be amazed by the generosity of community funders who believe in the magnitude of the work we carry out as much as we do.

Susan G. Komen

Komen GrantWe're pleased to announce that Wheaton Franciscan – St. Joseph Campus’ Phenomenal Women program has been awarded a grant for $65,279 that will allow us to continue to provide breast health education and screenings to some of the most disenfranchised populations in the Greater Milwaukee Area.

The Phenomenal Women program specifically targets African American women who are incarcerated, homeless or in a half-way house. Oftentimes in these situations, the health and well-being of these women is the last thing on their mind, however, they are at no less risk than anyone else.

Our program seeks to meet women where they are at and connect them to the healthcare resources they may need. This program is solely funded through the Komen grant, and we want to thank Komen for their continued support of this important initiative.

Wisconsin Department of Transportation

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded the Wheaton Franciscan - St. Joseph Women’s Outpatient Center a $4,000 grant. This grant helps to make our Safe Sleep Program a reality. All mothers who participate in our educational car seat safety courses receive a car seat ensuring that their baby has a safe way to be transported. In addition, any mother who delivers at our facility and doesn't have a car seat, is provided one free of charge. We are grateful to the Wisconsin DOT in helping to make our communities stronger, healthier and better.
