Catholic Community Foundation Provides Needed Support

It is with gratitude that we announce the Catholic Community Foundation has once again provided $10,000 in funding for the Safe Place for Newborns (SPfN) program.

SPfN has been in existence since 2001, with the enactment of the Safe Haven Law. This law allows for the legal, safe and anonymous relinquishment of an infant within 72 hours of birth.

St. Joseph Foundation has served as the headquarters for SPfN since 2010. With increased financial support from donors and foundations like the Catholic Community Foundation, SPfN has increased its statewide presence with education and media messaging. In the past 15 years, more than 199 infants have been safely relinquished because of this program. We are excited to continue our partnership with Catholic Community Foundation on this lifesaving program.

If you’d like to learn about volunteer opportunities or ways you can support SPfN, please call the St. Joseph Foundation at 414-447-2188.
