Wheaton Franciscan – St. Joseph Campus’s Anemia Management Clinic Offers Patients Relief
If you’re living with anemia – and are frustrated by the side effects of this chronic blood disorder - Wheaton Franciscan – St. Joseph Campus has a specialized program that offers relief. We have successfully worked with patients to manage and improve the following signs of anemia, including:.
- Loss of appetite
- Depression
- Tiredness and fatigue
- Shortness of breath with activity
Our anemia management approach
We work along side your primary care doctor to treat your anemia with the latest medical therapies. Our program is particularly effective for patients with anemia related to:
- B12 deficiency
- Iron deficiency
- Chronic anemia related to a variety of diseases
Among the medical therapies we offer are newer preparations of IV iron that can be safely delivered in 2 to 5 minutes, as compared to more time-intensive infusions.
Our team
Our anemia management program is led by advance practice nurses who have specialized training in anemia and other blood disorders. We also work with your doctor, pharmacists and other clinical care providers to create and implement your treatment plan.
A physician referral is required for our program.
