Judy Gavigan

Director of Business Relations

Since February 2004, Judy has been working as Director of Business Relations for Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare. Her team is responsible for proactively working with employers on the implementation of wellness initiatives in the workplace. Prior to her current position, Judy worked in the financial field for over 25 years, first in New York state where she grew up, and then in Wisconsin. In her various leadership roles she has had extensive training, certification and hands-on experience in the area of sales, coaching and performance management. She's also certified as a True Colors communication facilitator. Her primary goal in partnering with businesses is to help build a healthier workforce with effective teams. Judy's hobbies include golf, walking and travel.

Tarey Bernhard, RN

Manager, Employer Clinic Services

Experience: A varied nursing background in medical-surgical nursing, school nursing, visiting nursing, and several years in emergency nursing. Served as Manager, Employee Health Services at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints and Manager of Employer Based Clinics.

Philosophy: "My customer service philosophy is the basic golden rule, to treat others the way I want to be treated. I'm proud to work collaboratively with community employers in a concerted effort to lower their health care costs with customized wellness programs. Being passionate about community wellness, I serve as the co-chair for the Well City Racine Task Force. In April 2012, Racine was designated as a Well City USA by the Wellness Council of America. I am an avid walker and believe that physical activity is not an option but a necessity in one’s daily routine. I enjoy strength training, yoga and always spending ample time with my family and friends."

Lois M. Bauman, RN

Wellness Coach

Experience: Multiple years as a Registered Nurse; have practiced in Neurology, Surgery, Infection Control, Family Medicine and Business Relations. Worked majority of career at Wheaton in hospital and clinic roles as well as a health and wellness nurse.

  • Wellness Coach Certification, Health-For-Life Institute and Center of Health and Wellness Studies, University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee College of Health Sciences

Philosophy: "I'm very enthusiastic when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle through exercise and diet. I enjoy dancing, Zumba, swimming, strength training and biking. My hobbies include cooking, gardening, and entertaining family and friends. Guiding others down the path to improved health and wellness is extremely rewarding. It all starts with making small changes!"

Kathy Brunell, RN

Wellness Coach

Experience: "With over nine Years at Wheaton, my goal has been to provide on-site nursing services, including education and coaching toward a healthier lifestyle, to help clients do all they can to prevent illness, and set and achieve their wellness goals."

Education: "After graduation from nursing school (MATC) many moons ago, my focus became Occupational Health nursing. I completed the requirements to become board certified in Occupational Health Nursing, and subsequently added the Case Manager, Wellness and Health Coach certifications."

Philosophy: "When a client requests something, even if we haven’t provided that particular service in the past, my first answer will never be 'no' or 'we can’t do that.' I want to be creative and explore new options for providing excellent service to meet the needs of the diverse populations we encounter."

Amy A. Deschler, RN

Wellness Coach

Experience: 10 years as a Registered Nurse. Past six years at Wheaton in health and wellness promotion.

  • Wellness Coach Certification, Health-For-Life Institute and Center of Health and Wellness Studies, University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee College of Health Sciences

Philosophy: "I have a passion for exercise and healthy eating. For myself, practicing a healthy lifestyle includes running, biking, strength training, nutrition-focused cooking and baking, and spending time with family and friends. It is my privilege to work with others on their own journey to achieve optimal health and wellness."

Caren H. Groose

Registered Nurse Wellness Coach & Community Support Services Coordinator

Experience: Over 30 years of nursing experience working in the community, hospital, medical equipment and home health setting. This includes over six years at Wheaton.


  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, University of Wisconsin - Madison

Philosophy: "My passion is to assist people in identifying and meeting their goals for good health and wellness, and to support their efforts. For myself, that includes spending time with family, friends, tennis, golf and cheering on the Badgers and Packers!"

Patricia Patterson, RN

Wellness Coach

Experience: Has been with Wheaton for over two years and is currently working as Registered Nurse Wellness Coach at Goodwill Great Lakes. Also does Telephonic Wellness Coaching for Steinhafels and Velvac, and works with the Priest Wellness Program.

Philosophy: "I work to help clients live at the highest level of wellness possible for them, so that they feel and look their best, and can enjoy life to the fullest."

Becky Sielski, RN

Wellness Coach

Experience: "I started off working as an ER Tech in the Emergency Room. After graduation, I starting working in the walk-in clinic, several EBC clinics and now business relations. I've been with Wheaton over 11 years."

Philosophy: "I believe living a healthy life style filled with proper diet and exercise allows you to take control of your health. Setting realistic goals and planning actions steps to achieve your goals, helps create an outline for success. I enjoy running, strength training, softball, and chasing my kids around in the backyard. In my free time I enjoy creating new projects from Pinterest and spending time with family. Make eating well and exercising a priority … you are worth it!"

Cheryl Svoren, RN

Wellness Coach

Experience: "I have many years of nursing experience at Wheaton. In my current role, I provide on-site wellness coaching at local businesses. This includes wellness and preventive care for employees."

Terri Urick

Employer Account Specialist

Build relationships with new business contacts and maintain existing relationships with business partners throughout Southeast Wisconsin to provide on-site services to employee groups with the purpose of increasing insured volume into the Wheaton system. To coordinate services through Wheaton's Healthy Connections™ program and ensure that measurements indicate a positive outcome to obtaining downstream business growth.
