Urgent Care/Walk-In Care
A Good Choice for Minor Injuries and Illnesses
Urgent care or walk-in care is a good choice for the treatment of minor injuries and illnesses when your regular doctor isn't available.
The types of conditions that are appropriate for urgent or walk-in care include:
- Muscle strain/sprain
- Sore throat
- Skin rash
- Urinary pain
- Simple cuts
- Pink eye
- Small bone fracture (toe, finger)
- Mild/moderate shortness of breath
- Mild/moderate aches and pains
- Back and dental pain
- Drainage of abscesses, boils and foreign body removal
- Medication refills
- Removal of stitches
Appointments are not necessary, and patients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
Urgent and walk-in care are not meant to replace care provided by a primary care physician. Instead, these services should be used when your primary care physician is not available.

Urgent Care Billing
Many of our urgent care services are offered within our Emergency Departments. When you arrive at one of our Emergency Departments that also offers Urgent Care, our triage staff will determine the level of care you need.
Urgent Care services are billed under your urgent care visit insurance benefit. Likewise, if your condition requires a higher level of care in the Emergency Department, services will be billed as an Emergency Room visit. Learn more about billing.
