CT Scans

CT Scans - Faster, Easier Than Ever

A Computed Tomography Scan, usually called a CT or CAT scan, is a noninvasive, painless medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions such as vascular disease, spinal problems and a variety of cancers.

The 64-slice CT, the newest technology in CT scanning is available at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare Hospitals. This technology provides faster exams and greater diagnostic capabilities.

Physicians can view three dimensional images of the heart and other organs with much greater detail than before using the 64-slice CT scanner. The speed and sensitivity gives physicians the ability to view the heart and surrounding structures in just a few seconds. Images of a beating heart are captured in five heartbeats, a single organ in one second and whole body trauma in 10 seconds.

The 64-slice CT scan offers a more cost-effective and less invasive alternative to traditional angiography.
