Dizziness & Balance

Nearly every activity you perform requires balance-the coordination of motion sensors in your eyes, feet, and inner ears. Problems with these systems may lead to dizziness or loss of balance.

Recognizing The Signs

Spine therapy may be needed if you've suffered repetitive stress, disease, or trauma to the spine, or if you require rehabilitation after surgery.

Dizziness and loss of balance are symptoms with specific causes and treatments, not just a part of growing older. To recognize that you may have a problem, ask yourself these questions:

  • Have you fallen more than once in the past year?
  • Do you feel dizzy or unsteady when making sudden changes in movement or climbing stairs?
  • Do you have blackouts or seizures?
  • Do you have difficulty sitting down or rising from a seated/lying position?
  • Do you feel numb or lose sensation in your legs and/or feet?
  • Do you have periods of dizziness for no apparent reason?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, you should talk to your doctor.
