Massage Therapy
Massage has been practiced as a healing therapy for centuries in nearly every culture around the world. This "hands-on" therapy manipulates muscles and other soft tissues of the body to improve health and well-being. Varieties of massage range from gentle stroking and kneading of muscles and other soft tissues to deeper manual techniques.

Massage Services
All Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare massage therapists are graduates of an accredited school and are licensed by the state of Wisconsin.
We offer the following types of massage :
- Deep Tissue: Focuses on the deeper layers of the muscle tissue. Chronic patterns of tension in the body are released through low strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fibers or the muscles and fascia. This is a corrective and therapeutic massage.
- Myofacial Release: Works with, not on, the body. Using gentle pulls and stretches, the therapist waits for the body to provide guidance. Corrects chronic body holding pattern. No massage cream or oil is used.
- Prenatal: Focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be. A special table allows the patient to comfortably lie on her stomach for this massage. (Not given until after first trimester.)
- Swedish: Uses classic massage strokes for relaxation, improving circulation, enhancing muscle and joint function and relieving mental and physical fatigue. Perfect for a first-time massage.
- Craniosacral Therapy:A gentle method of releasing constrictions deep within the body. This massage evaluates and enhances the function of the craniosacral system, face and head bones. You remain clothed during this session.
- Lymphatic Massage:This is a soft, deeply relaxing fluid massage, which strengthens the immune system as it moves the lymph fluid in your body. A wonderful way to cleanse the body of cellular bacteria and toxins.
A Touch of Spa
- Heated Stone (60-or 90-minute service): Releases penetrating heat through stones placed by the shoulders, belly, between toes and palms of hands. Oiled stones will then be glided over muscles, allowing for complete relaxation.
- Foot Fantasy: Revive your feet and relax your entire body. Rest comfortably on a massage table as your therapist incorporates a light-scent foot wash anda variety of massage techniques designed to melt away tension while promoting total body relaxation. Please allow a minimum of 30 minutes for your massage.
