Back in the kayak again

“I am a 60-year-young life-long resident of Racine, Wisconsin,” declares Bobbie Reinhofer. Eight years ago, when she was diagnosed with osteoarthritis, it was the first time this vibrant woman was forced to slow down. “I went from kayaking, biking, walking, and vacationing to struggling to walk to the mailbox.”

Eventually, Bobbie’s doctor told her she needed to have both knees replaced. “I didn’t want to go out of town for my surgery,” explains Bobbie. She looked locally and discovered Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints’ Orthopedic Department. “I was impressed the minute I ventured in. The system was smooth and efficient, and the nursing staff greeted me with eye-to-eye contact and listened to what I was saying – something that eluded me in the past.”

After a successful surgery and rehabilitation at All Saints’ Joint Camp, Bobbie is back in the kayak again.

“I don’t know what age 60 should feel like,” says Bobbie. “But I know for me, it feels great!”

Last year, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints received its sixth consecutive five-star rating for joint replacement surgery from HealthGrades, the nation’s leading health care ratings company. All Saints’ overall orthopedic services have also achieved recognition from HealthGrades with consistent rankings among the best in Wisconsin and the top ten percent in the nation.
