Wheaton Franciscan Cancer Care-Reiman Center

Welcome to the Reiman Center for Cancer Care, 7410 W. Rawson Ave., Franklin. Here, you'll find the healing power of the region's best oncologists and cutting-edge technology seamlessly linked together.

We bring you an expansive array of cancer-fighting resources, with revolutionary advances such as High-Dose-Radiation and Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy. While our technology is impressive, equally important is the warm, personal care with which our staff treats you and your family. At the Reiman Center for Cancer Care, cancer experts from many specialties meet regularly to discuss your care, treatment and progress. We provide you with the technology, medicine, skilled individuals and overall environment you need to conquer cancer.

Our facility opened in 2001 and was designed with input from cancer survivors. You’ll find that the convenient parking, soothing environment and multiple services under one roof, all make for an effective healing environment for individuals undergoing cancer treatment.

Following are the services offered at the Reiman Center for Cancer Care.

  • Intensity Modulated Radiaton Therapy – a software system that “maps” the patient’s anatomical structure and allows physicians to deliver highly focused radiation beams to the tumor from different angles, while sparing normal tissue.
  • 3D Treatment Planning – treatment planning system which allows for more efficient in-depth patient dose calculations.
  • Prostate seed implants – a form of radiation treatment for men with early stage prostate cancer.  Radioactive “seeds” placed into the prostate gland emit low-energy x-rays, which destroy cancer in the prostate without damaging surrounding tissue.
  • High Dose Rate Brachytherapy – A form of treatment therapy that delivers a high dose of radiation to a tumor site in treatment sessions that last minutes instead of hours or days.
  • CT Simulation – Utilization of a “CT” scanner combined with a simulator to precisely “map” out radiation treatment fields on patients.
  • Conventional Simulation – Utilization of Varian simulator with fluoroscopy capabilities to determine patient treatment areas.
  • CT/PET scanner
  • Conventional radiation therapy treatments – Utilization of a linear accelerator to deliver radiation therapy treatments to patients.
  • Intravascular brachytherapy – Radioactive “stents” are placed in the blood vessels.

The following services are also offered through Wheaton Franciscan Cancer Care:
