Visitor Information

Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - Elmbrook Memorial believes that family and friends play an important role in supporting the health and healing of our patients.  While we encourage you to visit, we also need to ensure all patients receive the quiet and rest necessary for a speedy recovery.

Visiting Hours
Recommended  visiting hours are  9:00 a.m – 8:00 p.m.

Visiting hours may be limited due to the patient’s condition and doctor’s recommendation. Should special circumstances arise, feel free to ask the nurse if alternate visiting hours may be arranged. Visitor lounges are located on each floor and near the surgery and intensive care units.

Visitors should always respect the patient’s wishes as well as the confidentiality, privacy and security of others. Patients may decide who can and cannot visit. If you have special requests or concerns, please discuss with your caregiver.

Guest Accommodations
For family members who wish to stay with a patient during his or her hospitalization, we will provide guest accommodations for a nominal fee. Please discuss with the patient’s caregiver.

Children Visitation
Children are permitted to visit a friend or loved one. It is the responsibility of the family member to maintain continuous supervision of their children at all times.

Any child with a communicable disease or obvious illness will be restricted from patient contact and areas.

Pet Visitation
Other than seeing eye dogs, a physician’s order is required for pet visitation. Please contact your caregiver to arrange a beneficial time for pet visitation. Pets are limited to dogs and cats and must be free of illness.

Waiting Areas
There are specially-designed lounge areas for visitors on each patient floor and in the main lobby. Specific waiting areas have been designated for families of patients in the Intensive Care Unit, the Emergency Department, Department of Surgery and Imaging Services.

Smoking
Elmbrook Memorial is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on our property.  This is in the best interest of our patients, staff and community.

Gift Shop
A variety of personal items, magazines, gifts and cards are available in the hospital Gift Shop located on the third floor. The Gift Shop is staffed by volunteers and is open until 7:45 p.m. during the week and 3:00 p.m. on weekends. Used books may be purchased on the third floor near the main entrance.

Pharmacy
For your convenience, a full-service pharmacy is available at Elmbrook Memorial and located just inside the front entrance.  Our pharmacy offers automated prescription services as well as professional and courteous service from trained staff who take time to listen your questions and needs.

Cafeteria Service
Visitors are welcome to eat in the cafeteria, located on the third floor.

Monday through Friday
6:45 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
4:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.

Weekends and Holidays
7:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Vending Machines
Vending machines for snacks and beverages are located adjacent to the cafeteria, on the third floor. Vending machines are available 24 hours a day.

ATM
(Automatic Teller Machine) is located in the Main Lobby across from the Information Desk for your convenience.

Parking
If a patient’s car must be left in the hospital parking lot during their stay at Elmbrook Memorial, please contact the Admitting Department at extension 2016 with a description of the car and the license plate number. The hospital cannot be liable for damage to automobiles.

Visitors are asked to park in the visitor parking lot, near the third floor entrance. Handicapped parking is available in all parking areas.

Gifts and Deliveries
Mail, plants and flowers will be accepted and delivered to the patient. Mail received after the patient is discharged will be forwarded to their home. Mylar balloons are recommended. The use of latex balloons is discouraged. Food may be brought in within the patient’s dietary restrictions.
