Medical Explorers is a chance for young people to learn about medical careers that may appeal to them as they move toward college. It’s a chance to meet, speak with and learn from doctors, nurses, medical technicians and specialists, and more. They’ll tell you about what they do, why they do it, and why you may or may not want to do it too.
Meetings are held about twice a month, from October to March, at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital. Most programs run 7:00-8:15p.m., although programs may be shorter or longer depending on the schedule of the person speaking and the number of questions asked. For meeting dates and locations within the hospital, please check the schedule.
(All meetings are in the EMH Lobby Conference Room unless otherwise noted) .
February 25, 2008

March 10, 2008
Topic: OB/GYN

If you see stars (**) on the schedule, that means the program is more graphic. Doctors sometimes show pictures or video from surgeries or other procedures. We don’t mean to gross you out, but if this is something the doctor handles on a day-to-day basis, they won’t hide it from you.
If school is cancelled, Medical Explorers is cancelled.
There are no official guidelines for who can and cannot attend Medical Explorers, although most participants are juniors and seniors in high school. (Parents are welcome to attend.)
