Radiology/Imaging Services at WFH - Elmbrook Memorial include:
WFH - Elmbrook Memorial offers a 64-slice CT scanner. This technology provides physicians with a non-invasive, accurate tool in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases through detailed, high resolution and three-dimensional images. Many patients diagnosed with coronary disease receive follow-up diagnostic tests such as catheterization and/or heart surgery (at other Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare sites).
Accredited Chest Pain Center
Elmbrook Memorial’s Level II Emergency Department is fully accredited as a Chest Pain Center, meaning the department and staff is totally prepared to care for patients with heart attack symptoms. Successful treatment of heart attacks is time dependent and must be initiated rapidly.
The Chest Pain Center’s protocol driven and streamlined approach to patient management allows physicians to reduce time to treatment during the critical early stages of a heart attack, when treatments are most effective, and to better monitor patients when it is not clear whether they are having a coronary event. Such observation helps ensure that a patient is neither sent home too early nor needlessly admitted. WFH - Elmbrook Memorial’s close proximity and partnership with The Wisconsin Heart Hospital allows for efficient transfer of care, services and continued treatment of any cardiac event or diagnosis.
