Dr. Julian De Lia has received the 2010 Pacesetter Award from New York Hospital Queens in Flushing, NY. The Pacesetter Award is the hospital's highest honor – presented each year to an individual who has had a major impact on the advancement of patient care, medical education, research, and the well-being of the human community.
Dr. De Lia is the founder and medical director of the International Institute for the Treatment of Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome at Wheaton Franciscan – St. Joseph Campus. The Institute is the only fetal treatment center in the world specifically dedicated to the life-threatening disorder that can impair or cause the death of twins in the womb.
Dr. De Lia's hobbies include sports, coaching, and stamp collecting with his son.
