Ryan Engel, DO

Specialties: Hematology/Oncology, Medical Oncology
"I decided to practice oncology because it encompasses all other specialties and involves supporting patients on multiple facets of care. Having had a family member with cancer, I understand the needs of both the patients and their families and that a diagnosis can take a physical and emotional toll on all involved. My goal as an oncologist is to be caring, approachable and dependable. I feel a sense of honor participating in patients' lives. While following standard, evidence based, treatment approaches, I individualize care based on the needs of each patient. Ultimately, I strive to treat all those as if I am taking care of my own family."

This was my first visit with Dr. Engel. I found him very easy to talk to and he was very personal. I liked Dr Rayani and was a little concerned about a new doctor. I need not be. Dr. Engel covered everything...medicines etc and I really enjoyed my visit (hard to believe-enjoying a dr. visit!).

He answered his cell phone and had a conversation during my visit. I don't think this is appropriate.

This is a new Dr. for me but so far Dr. Engel has been an excellent care provider. I think the nurses are a bit less patient with me.

This was my first visit with this provider so it was more of a "get acquainted" visit but we had good discussion and general check-up. I skipped a few questions because this was my only visit so far with this provider so far.

The doctor is very confident and competent, and when he is not sure of something, consults with other professionals.

Dr. Engel is an amazing physician. I feel blessed to have been referred to him when I was diagnosed with cancer. His compassion, patience and concern for his patients gives you the confidence and support you need to navigate this journey. He ALWAYS takes as much time as needed to explain things and makes himself available if you have any questions or concerns. He is smart and gives you his best all the time. Most importantly, he is just an exceptional human being. I can't imagine going through something like this without him.

Everyone is so caring in the Oncology Department. Miranda on the third floor is a saint!

If I had been seen in a timely manner, I would be more likely to recommend this provider.

Dr. Engel is one of the most compassionate, caring doctors I have encountered. He went above and beyond to see me through my health crisis.
