“Last year, my father passed away, my son got married, my husband suffered a heart attack, and my dog died of cancer - all in one month. Then, the next month, my best friend died of cancer. Needless to say, I was not dealing well with all these things piling up in such a short time. My supervisor suggested I call the EAP and schedule an appointment, so I did. The EAP is an excellent program that is easily accessible and the staff is very accommodating. I felt like they really cared about my situation and respected what I had to say. We were able to work through the issues together and I received some great advice to help deal with life at that time. Scheduling was very flexible and I was able to attend sessions around my work schedule. It is great to have such a helpful program available to staff. I highly recommend it to anyone who is having trouble concentrating at work and needs a little help coping with life.”
“I was emotionally and physically exhausted when I was trying to cope with my sister’s substance abuse problem. At the suggestion of a co-worker, I called the Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare EAP services to see if they could help; hoping to find some peace, stability, and understanding. After several one-on-one sessions with a counselor, I was able to effectively deal with this great difficulty in my life. Not only was I able to have a “shoulder to lean on” and speak about the pain I was experiencing; but the support and additional educational tools were of great help to myself, as well as my family. If I were ever in a situation again where the world seems to be crashing in around me, I would not hesitate to call my EAP counselor and get the competent and professional help that I know is always there.”
“When I was dealing with some tough emotional issues, I realized I needed professional help but the last thing I wanted to deal with was searching out the right service for myself and having to deal with the insurance company. Because my employer provides us access to EAP services, I simply dialed the EAP phone number and was scheduled for a face-to-face appointment the same day! I never had to fill out any insurance paperwork, and the wonderful counselor I met with was able to zero in on my problem and offer a solid plan of action. For me, EAP was truly a lifesaver.”
“Blindsided by a horrific family tragedy, I phoned EAP for an emergency session. I was able to be seen for a session within 2 hours of my phone call! The setting was serene and discreet; the therapist was caring, trustworthy and knowledgeable. The quality of the session was enhanced by tapping into my learning style, which is a combination of visual and auditory. After speaking with the therapist, I was able to keep myself together for the children’s benefit. Any employee will benefit by knowing there is a quick source of quality care available, when they need it most.”
