Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Why Offer an EAP?
Employees are one of an employer’s most valuable assets. Sometimes employees experience personal or work-related problems that are too complex or overwhelming to handle on their own. If that happens, absenteeism rates, injury rates, and health care costs can skyrocket.

However, if these problems are detected and addressed early, companies can save thousands of dollars each year by reducing sick leave, poor work performance, unnecessary healthcare provider visits and tests, as well as short-term and long-term disability claims.

How do you know when an employee is experiencing a personal or work-related problem? Sometimes the employee will come to you and tell you all about it, consuming time and energy, and putting you in an inappropriate role of therapist, confidant, or friend. Other times, they may be silent while you witness an increase in their absenteeism, or a deterioration in their work productivity and performance.
