Cardiac Preventive Care & Diagnostic Services

Wheaton Franciscan - Elmbrook Memorial Campus provides diagnostic cardiac testing and emergency cardiac stabilization with plans to add a cardiac catheterization lab in early 2012.

Quick response to cardiac emergency

Elmbrook Memorial’s Level IV Emergency Department is fully prepared to care for patients with heart attack symptoms. Successful treatment of heart attacks is time dependent and must be initiated rapidly.

Our protocol-driven and streamlined approach to patient management allows physicians to reduce time-to-treatment during the critical early stages of a heart attack, when treatments are most effective, and to better monitor patients when it is not clear whether they are having one. Such observation helps ensure that a patient is neither sent home too early nor needlessly admitted.

Wheaton Franciscan - Elmbrook Memorial’s close proximity and partnership with The Wisconsin Heart Hospital Campus allows for efficient transfer of care, services and continued treatment of any cardiac event or diagnosis.

Cardiac Radiology/Imaging Services currently offered at Wheaton Franciscan - Elmbrook Memorial Campus include:

These technologies provide physicians with non-invasive, accurate tools in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases through detailed, high resolution and three-dimensional images. Many patients diagnosed with coronary disease receive follow-up diagnostic tests such as catheterization and/or heart surgery at our sister hospitals - Wheaton Franciscan – St. Joseph Campus or The Wisconsin Heart Hospital Campus.
