Bishop Family Baby’s Closet
Rob and Laura Bishop recently welcomed the birth of their first daughter, Abigail here at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints. In light of the care they received, the Bishops have made multiple gifts in support of labor and delivery. Their most recent gift will support the Bishop Family Baby’s Closet for the next five years!
”We didn't know what to expect following the C-section delivery of our baby, Abigail. We were first-time parents.
Thankfully, our nurses put us at ease before, during and after Abigail’s healthy arrival. These caring nurses shared not only their skills with us but their stories, including comforting stories of their own children’s births. Our family’s warm, memorable time with them is why we chose to give to All Saints Foundation’s Guardian Angel program.
From these nurses, we drew strength and confidence in those first days filled with so much emotion. Our nurses were upbeat and energetic, treating us all like the only patient-family they had. They also served as calm and understanding teachers, gently guiding us through feeding schedules and bathing techniques. Their compassion is etched into our memories of Abigail’s birth.
It’s amazing to think about everything that goes into a hospital visit and all the care that is provided. Day in and day out, nurses and care-givers leave their own families to make sure patients at All Saints are healthy. That’s quite extraordinary, and that is why we choose to give.”
The Bishop Family Baby's Closet engages at-risk mothers to complete vital steps of their prenatal care and birthing process. The Baby's Closet employs a point system that rewards each mother for completing specific milestones in their prenatal care. Those points are then used to purchase infant care items from the closet. This program acts as an incentive for an incredibly important care process that is often overlooked by first time mothers with no support system or lack of knowledge of the health care benefits being made available to them.
Thank you Bishop Family for your very generous support.
