All Saints Provides the Special Care Kids Need in an Emergency
You can’t plan for a childhood emergency, but you can count on the All Saints Emergency Care Center (ECC) if one happens.
From infants to teens, our ECC provides the type of care young minds and bodies need. We are certified in pediatric emergency care, and we have the expertise and equipment that patients and their families need, whether the emergency is a minor cut or life-saving resuscitation.
The highlight of our Emergency Care Center is our incredible team of physicians and experts. Our physicians are trained and board-certified in emergency medicine. All our experts are experienced in treating children and understand that younger patients need special comfort and concern.
At All Saints, we understand that children are not just small adults. Kids have different disease processes in mind, body and spirit. They also react to pain and medications quite differently than adults. Understanding these differences is very important to giving proper care, especially in a stressful place like an emergency department.
Because of this, our rooms are designed for children and families. Each room contains child-sized and adult medical equipment, a DVD player and television. Our emergency nursing staff knows how to help children understand and cope with medical emergencies. Additionally, the rooms are large enough for family members, who provide an important source of comfort and support.
Since 2008, a dedicated Pediatric Sexual Assault Examination Program has been available through the Emergency Care Center for victims of sexual assault.
The All Saints Emergency Care Center is located at 3803 Spring Street, Racine, WI 53405.
