Community Education and Training
Community Education, Training for Professionals Supports Recovery Efforts
In addition to providing patient education about mental health and addiction issues, Wheaton Franciscan also provides community education and training for area professionals.
Community education
Providing information and answering questions about mental health and addiction issues helps remove some of the barriers to treatment. It also decreases the stigma associated with mental health and addiction.

First Responder training
Training for area professionals teaches them to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health issues or addiction, and respond appropriately. We offer Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) for law enforcement. Certified instructor courses are available for first responders.
Continuing education for mental health professionals
Continuing education credit programs are available on various topics. See schedule of available programs.
