Racine, WI - Ken Buser, President of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints, is the 2012 recipient of the Wisconsin Hospital Association’s Distinguished Service Award for his service to the hospital, community, and to the Association.  Buser was honored by WHA President Steve Brenton during the WHA Summit held September 21 in Madison.

The Distinguished Service Award honors senior health care executives who have made an exemplary commitment to WHA and the communities they serve.

Buser has been a valuable resource to and active in the Wisconsin Hospital Association.  He served on the Board from 2001-2009 and was Chair of the Board in 2008 in addition to his participation on or leadership of numerous committees since 2004.

“Ken has made many positive contributions to health care in Wisconsin during his career,” said John Oliverio, President and Chief Executive Officer of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare. “He is most deserving of this award based on his accomplishments at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints, in the Racine community, and with the Wisconsin Hospital Association. Ken’s commitment to understanding and meeting the needs of the community as well as our own associates and physicians has made him a highly effective leader.”

Buser has announced his plans for retirement in February 2013 after a successful 40-year career, including 13 years with Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare.
