Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare Receives Honor as Employer of Older Workers

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare has been presented a Sterling Award for being a large employer in Southeast Wisconsin at a special ceremony in Milwaukee. The award recognizes employers who have created a welcoming and friendly environment for older workers.

The Sterling Awards Committee also recognized employees over 60 who have made outstanding contributions in the workforce. The following Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare associates were honored during this special event:

  • Linda Sarner, Social Worker in the Cancer Center at Wheaton Franciscan – Elmbrook Memorial, received the Silver Advocate Awrd for her work within the community.
  • Linda Petri, Clinical Informatics Analyst at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints, has received the Myth Buster Award for embracing new skills, taking on new challenges, and breaking older worker stereotypes in the workplace.
  • Sandra Georgeson, Clinical Research Coordinator at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints, received the Spirit of Work Award for embracing and engaging peers and staff in the course of their work.
  • Minnie Shaw and Marilyn Cannon Miller, Nurse Mentors at the Wheaton Franciscan – St. Joseph Campus, received the Loyalty Award for being role models and inspiration to others.

Many other Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare employees were recognized at the ceremony.
