A Wisconsin First
In early 2012, Dr. Manfred Chiang, general and vascular surgeon at Wheaton Franciscan - Elmbrook Memorial Campus, performed the first gallbladder surgery in the state using the newly FDA approved Single-Site™ Robotic Assisted Surgery instrumentation.
This technology, when used with the da Vinci® Surgical System, removes the gallbladder through a single incision made in the patient’s naval, leaving minimal scarring and better outcomes. Dr. Chiang talks about this innovative surgery with FOX6 Wake Up News.
