Center for Employee Assistance

EAP

Employers know that healthy, happy employees are their most valuable assets.

Employers in the Greater Milwaukee area can partner with Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare to provide an employee assistance program (EAP) for their employees through our Center for Employee Assistance.

A large portion of your day is spent at work, and problems in your personal life can affect how well you perform your job. Your employer understands that work and personal life overlap, so the Center for Employee Assistance is here to provide free, confidential help if you and your family need it. Resolving issues means you feel better and can perform more effectively in your personal and work environments.

The Center provides professional counseling for a variety of personal or work-related issues:

  • Relationship or marital difficulties
  • Stress, depression or anxiety
  • Behavior or attitude problems of children
  • Anger management or family violence
  • Concerns about relationships with aging parents
  • Financial pressures
  • Managing conflict or coping with difficult co-workers
  • Communication skills
  • Alcohol or other drug abuse issues
Services are confidential and provided free of charge to you and your immediate family. The service is available to you regardless of what health insurance you carry. Your employer will not be notified if you use the service.

Experienced counselors provide free, confidential assistance
If you or your immediate family members need help, our counselors work closely with you to address the issues in a timely manner. We have a number of clinical therapists and drug and alcohol counselors with expertise in the areas of mental health, substance abuse and employee assistance work.

Services are available during regular business hours and evening hours. Our 24-hour answering service will put you in touch with an on-call consultant if you have an immediate crisis.

A convenient, confidential appointment will be scheduled within 1-2 business days and often on the same day. At this first consultation, we will assist you with any serious, immediate crisis and then help you develop an “action plan” of what to do next.

If additional help is needed, the consultant will offer referral information and resources. He or she will also discuss how to use your insurance benefits or make other arrangements for payment, if necessary. It’s always your choice whether to follow up with the referral suggestions.
